Sangrur city to have five RO plants

Sangrur, August 18
To provide safe drinking water to residents, Sangrur will soon have five reverse osmosis (RO) plants with the local Municipal Council passing a resolution in this regard.
The Municipal Council chief, Iqbaljit Singh Punia, said these RO plants would be installed by Indus Innovation. The MC would spend Rs 2.75 lakh on each plant for the requisite infrastructure, such as a building unit, electricity connection and submersible motor.
Punia said the company would supply water from its centre to the people at 12.50 paise per litre. Besides, the company would bear the expenditure incurred on water supply and the operation and maintenance of the RO plants.
Punia said the Municipal Council resolution would now be sent to the Local Bodies Department for approval after which the MC would sign an agreement with the company for 20 years.
